Overview

HAPPENING NOW is a personal dashboard that runs in your browser. We designed it to minimize data collection.

Data Stored On Your Device

The app stores your settings and lightweight cached content in browser localStorage so pages load faster and remember your preferences (theme, ZIP code, watchlist, widgets, and similar dashboard settings).

Data Sent To Third Parties

When you use dashboard features, your browser requests data from third-party providers, including weather APIs, news feeds, market data providers, and NASA/public space-data services. Your IP address and request metadata may be visible to those providers as part of normal web requests.

RSS Proxy

News requests may pass through a Cloudflare Worker RSS proxy for CORS compatibility. The proxy is used to fetch feed data and return it to your browser.

Cookies And Tracking

This site does not use advertising cookies or behavioral profiling scripts. Cloudflare Web Analytics or Real User Measurement may be enabled to collect aggregated, privacy-preserving traffic and performance data for site operations. Some third-party embeds or external links you open may use their own cookies under their own policies.

Analytics Providers

When enabled, Cloudflare analytics measures page visits, referrers, basic performance signals, and similar operational metrics. Based on current configuration, analytics collection may be limited or excluded for some visitors, including visitors in the EU.

Device Location (GPS)

The app never requests your device's GPS position automatically. Location access is only initiated when you explicitly click a GPS button in Settings, and only after you grant permission in your browser's permission prompt. You may deny or revoke that permission at any time in your browser settings. If you use the ZIP or city lookup instead, no GPS request is made.

Data Retention

Locally stored settings and caches stay in your browser until they expire naturally or you clear site data/reset settings.
